The 1st Source Bank Performance Center is happy to welcome Elyse Starr as a softball instructor to the Performance Center. Elyse is a sophomore pitcher and utility player for Indiana University South Bend (IUSB), where she continues to build on a strong foundation of competitive softball experience and academic commitment. A 2024 graduate of Kankakee Valley High School, Starr was a four-year varsity starter and a driving force behind one of the program’s most successful eras.

During her high school career, Starr posted an impressive 2.45 career ERA, helping lead Kankakee Valley to four sectional championships and two regional titles. Her performance on the field earned her numerous honors, including First Team All-Conference, All-Conference, Academic All-Conference, and First Team Academic All-State. She was also the recipient of the prestigious Kougar Award and the Mental Attitude Award, both recognizing exceptional character, leadership, and dedication.

A respected leader, Starr served as team captain during her junior and senior seasons and was an active member of the school's Athletic Leadership Club. Beyond school ball, she brings nine years of high-level travel softball experience, further shaping her into a versatile and competitive athlete.
